SMS Messaging Program

Last updated: May 8, 2026

This page describes the eMARCOTT Notifications SMS messaging program (the "Messaging Program") operated by Marcott Enterprises LLC, a Connecticut limited liability company doing business as eMARCOTT. This page exists so that prospective subscribers, carriers, and regulators can review the program's opt-in flow, sample content, and consumer-protection mechanics without first creating an eMARCOTT account.

The full legal terms governing the Messaging Program are in Section 18 of our Terms of Service. SMS data handling is described in our Privacy Policy.

1. Program Summary

  • Program name: eMARCOTT Notifications
  • Operator: Marcott Enterprises LLC, doing business as eMARCOTT (Connecticut, United States)
  • Messaging provider: Twilio
  • Use case: Transactional account notifications only — sent to the eMARCOTT account holder about their own account
  • Audience: eMARCOTT subscribers (paid and trial) on U.S. wireless carriers
  • Marketing content: None. No promotional, affiliate, or third-party content is sent on this program.
  • Cost to recipient: Free from eMARCOTT. Standard message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply.
  • Frequency: Event-driven, not scheduled. Typical subscribers receive 0–4 messages per month, triggered by events on their own account (trial-ending, payment-failed, plan-change, security alert).

2. How to Opt In

The Messaging Program is opt-in only. There is no way to be enrolled without three deliberate acts on the subscriber's own eMARCOTT account, in this exact order:

  1. Create an eMARCOTT account at https://www.emarcott.com/signup using your business email and a password.
  2. Open Settings → Notifications at https://www.emarcott.com/admin/settings/notifications. Enter your mobile phone number in E.164 format (e.g. +15551234567) and click Verify. Twilio Verify will send a one-time numeric code to that number on a separate, dedicated channel — this verification SMS is not part of the Messaging Program. Enter the code on the same page and click Confirm. On success, the phone number is recorded as verified on your profile.
  3. Grant SMS consent. Only after the phone is verified does an explicit consent block appear with the following disclosure and an Enable SMS notifications button:
By clicking Enable SMS notifications, you consent to receive transactional SMS from eMARCOTT at the verified number above. Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time. Msg & data rates may apply.
Clicking the button records an affirmative-consent timestamp and consent source on the subscriber's profile. Until this button is clicked, no SMS will be sent on the Messaging Program — even after phone verification succeeds.

Phone-ownership verification (step 2) is required before the consent block (step 3) is presented. This prevents a subscriber from consenting on behalf of a phone number they do not control.

3. Sample Messages

Every message on the Messaging Program is one of the following transactional notifications about the recipient's own eMARCOTT account. Each message is identified with the eMARCOTT prefix and includes HELP/STOP keyword instructions where required.

3.1 Trial-Ending Reminder

eMARCOTT: Your Pro trial ends Jun 12. Add a payment method at emarcott.com/admin/billing to keep Pro features. Reply HELP for help, STOP to unsubscribe.

3.2 Payment-Failure Alert

eMARCOTT: We couldn't charge your card for your May invoice ($45.95). Update payment at emarcott.com/admin/billing within 7 days to avoid suspension. Reply HELP for help, STOP to unsubscribe.

3.3 Plan-Change Confirmation

eMARCOTT: Your plan was changed from Starter to Pro, effective today. Your next invoice on Jun 1 will reflect the new rate. Reply HELP for help, STOP to unsubscribe.

3.4 New-Sign-In Security Alert

eMARCOTT security alert: a new sign-in to your account from Chrome on macOS in Boston, MA was just detected. If this wasn't you, reset your password at emarcott.com/admin/security. Reply HELP for help, STOP to unsubscribe.

3.5 Password-Change Confirmation

eMARCOTT: Your account password was just changed. If this wasn't you, contact support@emarcott.com or visit emarcott.com/support immediately. Reply HELP for help, STOP to unsubscribe.

4. HELP and STOP Keywords

The Messaging Program honors the standard CTIA messaging keywords. Keywords are case-insensitive and are processed by Twilio's Messaging Service in addition to a server-side opt-out table maintained by eMARCOTT.

4.1 HELP (and INFO)

Replying HELP returns:

Reply STOP to unsubscribe. Msg&Data Rates May Apply.

4.2 STOP (and STOPALL, CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE, REVOKE, OPTOUT)

Replying STOP (or any of the synonyms above) immediately:

  • Adds the recipient's phone number to the eMARCOTT opt-out table, which is consulted before every send. Once opted out, no further SMS will be sent from the Messaging Program to that number.
  • Returns the standard acknowledgment from Twilio:
You have successfully been unsubscribed. You will not receive any more messages from this number. Reply START to resubscribe.

4.3 START (and UNSTOP, RESUME)

Replying START re-enrolls the recipient in the Messaging Program at the same phone number, provided the underlying eMARCOTT account is still active and the consent record on file has not been revoked from within the account. Twilio returns:

eMARCOTT: You're resubscribed to account notifications. Reply HELP for help, STOP to unsubscribe.

5. Revoking Consent from Inside Your Account

In addition to replying STOP, subscribers can revoke SMS consent at any time by signing in and clicking Revoke in Settings → Notifications. Revoking consent inside the account clears the consent timestamp and has the same effect as replying STOP — no further SMS will be sent on the Messaging Program until consent is re-granted.

6. Privacy and Data Sharing

No mobile information — including phone numbers, SMS opt-in records, and consent timestamps — will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All sharing of mobile data with our service providers (currently Twilio) is solely for the purpose of operating the Messaging Program described on this page. Full data-handling details are in Section 1.8 of our Privacy Policy.

7. Eligibility and Carrier Disclaimer

The Messaging Program is available only to subscribers of U.S. wireless carriers using a U.S. mobile number. Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply. eMARCOTT does not charge a fee for sending or receiving messages on the Messaging Program.
